Omro Area Scholarship and Education Foundation awards 30 Omro students - June 12 2013

OSHKOSH, WI - The Omro Area Scholarship and Education Foundation has awarded a total of $38,720 in scholarships to 30 Omro High School seniors.

"It is such a pleasure to be able to present the senior class with thousands of dollars in scholarships each year," said Rachel Williams, Omro High School counselor. "The addition of the Charles and Margaret King Scholarship Fund has been a huge blessing. This year, nine students in a class of 80 received sizable scholarships, due to the Kings' generous donation."

The Charles and Margaret King Scholarship Fund was established in 2010 with a bequest of more than $900,000 from the estate of Charles and Margaret King. An Omro native and farmer, Charles King and his wife lived in New Mexico in their later years. Margaret died in 2005, and Charles died in 2008.

The following Omro High School students received scholarships during a ceremony on May 22, 2013. The awards are based on outstanding work in the classroom, extra-circular activities and community involvement.
