Year at a Glance
  • 1,299 grants totaling $3.8 million
  • 4,544 contributions totaling $5.3 million
  • 35 new funds, bring total funds to 710

  • "When we talk about strength in numbers, the Foundation is the epitome of the expression," said Diane Abraham, president and chief executive officer. "It is only through the many gifts of time, commitment and financial resources that the Foundation can make an impact."

The report highlights community partnerships, such as the fundraising campaign with the Oshkosh Police Department for its Command & Community Outreach Vehicle; donors like Vicky Schroeder whose Take 5 Club helps clothe low-income children; and the startup of a new affiliate with the Winneconne Area Community Foundation.

The Foundation reported a second consecutive year of significant growth with an increase of $13 million in assets, achieving a milestone $100 million in total assets. This compares with a $12 million increase in assets during the previous fiscal year. Contributions during fiscal year 2014 totaled $5.3 million, and grants totaled $3.8 million. Total distributions, which include support for community projects, were $5.3 million.

Abraham said the growth is due to a combination of a favorable investment climate and sizable individual donor gifts that came in a variety of forms, including cash, wills, stock transfers and insurance policies. Endowment building efforts by numerous local nonprofits also were a factor.

"Our growth is a reflection of the trust and confidence that our community has in the Foundation, and our promise to our donors is that we will be good stewards of their gifts by investing in the community," Abraham said. "We are grateful for every donation, and are rewarded with the opportunity to collaborate and partner with many other amazing individuals and organizations to have a lasting impact on our quality of life."
