Oshkosh Area Community Foundation to Open Search for New Leader - August 18 2015

CEO Diane Abraham to Remain as President/CEO through October 9th

OSHKOSH, Wis. -- The Oshkosh Area Community Foundation will open a search for a new President/CEO, following the announcement that CEO Diane Abraham will resign her position Oct. 9 to pursue new professional opportunities.

Under Abraham's leadership, the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation:

  • Increased the charitable assets under the Community Foundation's management by 20 percent, from $87 million to $104 million
  • Grew the number of charitable funds under the Community Foundation's administration by 11 percent
  • Played a pivotal role in the development of community-wide initiatives such as the Winnebago County Heroin Task Force, Oshkosh4Education, the launch of GO-EDC, and the introduction of the Oshkosh Police Department's Community Command and Outreach Vehicle
  • Launched the community-wide Tackling Wicked Problems initiative, mobilizing education, business, government and nonprofit organizations to collaborate and solve problems affecting the community

  • "It has been incredible to see the generous spirit in the community and I feel honored to have served in this role," Abraham said. "The spirit of giving back and working to improve our communities is visible among donors, nonprofit agency partners, government agencies and educational organizations. It has been an honor to partner with these individuals, organizations, the City of Oshkosh, Oshkosh Area School District, University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and many others over the last several years."

The Foundation administers more than $104 million in charitable funds, awarding nearly $17.5 million in grants during the last five years.

"Diane has worked hard to build an infrastructure that will support our continued growth," said Mark Lasky, president of the Foundation's Board of Directors. "We look forward to building upon that strong foundation as we open the search for a new CEO. Diane's leadership through this transition will help make that possible."

The new CEO will be the Foundation's fourth since the organization was founded in 1928. The Board of Directors will retain a professional search firm to conduct the hiring process.
