Nonprofits that serve senior citizens invited to apply for grants - October 27 2015

OSHKOSH, WI - Nonprofit organizations that support and enrich the lives of people age 55 and older in the Oshkosh area are encouraged to apply for grants from the Ladies Benevolent Society: Advocates for Older Adults Fund.

The LBS:AOA Fund provides grants to nonprofit organizations that help older adults with limited financial means to live dignified, meaningful and engaged lives in the community and maintain their health and independence for as long as possible.

Examples of activities eligible for grant funding include, but are not limited to, those that:
  • Provide basic human services for the elderly;
  • Promote the physical health of older adults;
  • Enhance the mental/emotional well-being of older adults and their caregivers;
  • Promote social enrichment and prevent social isolation.

  • Grant applications are due Nov. 2, 2015.

    The LBS: AOA Fund is a field of interest fund of the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation focused on improving the health and well-being of older adults in the Oshkosh area. Its last competitive grant cycle awarded more than $32,000 to support 13 local programs.
