Memorials in honor of Elwyn “Jack” F. Nelson directed to Fox River fund - December 9 2010

Elwyn "Jack" F. Nelson, a great friend and supporter of the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation, passed away Dec. 8, 2010.

Nelson, an Oshkosh native, spent his career in the construction industry, working for Edward H. Meyer Construction Co., Precour Construction Co. and C.R. Meyer & Sons Co., where he retired from in 1987 as Executive Vice President.

He was married for 64 years to Virginia "Ginna" Nelson, a longtime member of the Board of Directors of the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation, who survives, in addition to three children, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many other family members and friends.

A celebration of Jack's life will be held at noon Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, at First United Methodist Church, 700 W. Linwood Ave., Oshkosh, Wis., with Rev. John Hobbins officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes-Westside and from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park.

Memorials are being directed to the Fox River Heritage Parkway fund of the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation.
