|Annual Report: Foundation assets rise 21 percent to $77.7 million - October 17 2011
OSHKOSH, WI -- The Oshkosh Area Community Foundation cited a 21 percent increase in net assets for the 2011 fiscal year during its annual report to donors at an event last week at the Oshkosh Convention Center.
The celebratory gathering, which was attended by nearly 300 people, also provided donors, sponsors and artists with a sneak peak of the Nutcrackers on the Town community art project and the Community Art Mural.

"Projects like the Nutcrackers and the Mural are colorful and vibrant, and create so much energy in the community," said Eileen Connolly-Keesler, president and CEO of the Community Foundation. "The Foundation is proud to support the arts community, and we have to thank our donors for making such generous contributions that allow us to do that."
The Community Foundation reported total assets of $77.7 million for the 2011 fiscal year, which ended June 30, 2011. That's up from assets of $63.9 million the previous fiscal year.
Nearly $3 million was granted by the Community Foundation to nonprofits during the 2011 fiscal year. And nearly 5,300 contributions were received for a total $5 million in gifts during the same period.
A significant factor in the fiscal year growth was several large bequests from estate plans and wills totaling more than $2 million, Connolly-Keesler reported.
During the event, the Community Foundation also honored three community partners: Charles P. and Margaret S. King Fund (accepted by Omro Area Scholarship & Education Foundation); Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources; and Nutcrackers on the Town (accepted by the Paine Art Center and Gardens, Grand Opera House, Citizens First Credit Union and Bergstrom Automotive).
