Green Lake County nonprofits encouraged to seek Basic Needs grants - January 4 2012

OSHKOSH, WI – The Oshkosh Area Community Foundation will host a workshop for charitable groups interested in seeking grants to help meet local residents' basic needs and address poverty issues.

Nonprofits that provide programming in Green Lake County are encouraged to attend a Grantseekers Workshop at noon, Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, at Caestecker Public Library, 518 Hill St., Green Lake.

The workshop will provide an overview of what kind of programs and projects may be funded and how to complete the grant application, as well as answer questions about the process.

The grants will be funded by the U.S. Venture Fund for Basic Needs for Green Lake County. The fund provides assistance to nonprofit organizations that have a proven record of programs that address the root causes of poverty and prevent residents in crisis from becoming residents of chronic need.

The grant application deadline is March 1, 2012.
