Oshkosh4Education sets event to kick off visioning project - December 18 2012

Here is your opportunity to guide our schools future -- Oshkosh4Education needs your vision for our community!

Oshkosh4Education is a community-wide visioning project that aims to build a stronger bond between our public schools and the community. The visioning will be similar to the community visioning that took place in 2009. The 2009 visioning process helped the city of Oshkosh develop a strategic plan that engages its employees and city residents and works from a shared vision that ultimately builds a better quality of life to be had by all who work, live and play here.

Now the focus is on our schools. Oshkosh4Education will utilize a similar visioning process, and the resulting report on that vision will be delivered to the Oshkosh Area School District for use as a guide in its strategic planning. Oshkosh4Education won't stop there. Oshkosh4Education will remain engaged, reminding our schools leaders of what we hope will be a shared vision for our community's future.

We are launching this project with a public event featuring Carolyn Akers, chief executive officer of the Mobile Area Education Foundation. Oshkosh4Education is modeled after Mobile's highly successful school visioning project called Yes We Can.
