Designated: ROXEE Fund

Ron and Marion Bell have a love for animals, especially cats.

It was this love, and a concern for conditions at the local shelter, that led them more than 20 years ago to get involved with the startup of the Oshkosh Area Humane Society (OAHS).

With OAHS now well established and flourishing, the Bells took another step in 2011 to support animal welfare in the community. They created a Designated Fund to support older cats at OAHS. The couple had adopted an older cat named Roxee a few years before, and understood this population often goes unnoticed next to active younger cats and adorable kittens.

The ROXEE Fund not only supports medical treatment and care for older cats, but it also provides supplies for the new pet owners. OAHS' Pat Rock says the Bell's generosity is truly making a difference by helping numerous older cats find loving homes.
