Scholarship Applications & Deadlines
Each year, the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation and Green Lake County/Ripon Community Foundation award more than $300,000 in new and renewed scholarships to students in Winnebago County, Waushara Count, Green Lake County and Ripon. This includes over 50 new scholarship recipients each year, with awards ranging from $250 to $10,000. Many of these scholarships are renewable for students who continue to meet the award criteria.

Scholarship requirements vary, and can be viewed by clicking on the different scholarship programs listed below.

Alta T. & Daniel B. Straley Scholarship—This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from any Oshkosh high school pursuing a career in teaching. Applicant must have good academic standing and demonstrate financial need.
Anona Frankenstein Scholarship—This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from any Oshkosh public high school planning to attend a four-year college or university. Applicant must have good academic standing, participate in extra-curricular activities and demonstrate financial need.
Barbara Habstritt Scholarship—This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from Oshkosh West High School pursuing a degree in education with the intention to teach. Applicant can attend any four-year Wisconsin college or university.
Bertha M. Jones Scholarship—This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from any Oshkosh public high school demonstrating financial need.
Dave & Connie Paulick Scholarship—This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from any Oshkosh high school who attended Washington Elementary School.
Donald Gutzman Scholarship—This scholarship is awarded to graduating seniors from Oshkosh North and Oshkosh West High Schools.
Edward J. Dempsey Scholarship—This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from Lourdes High School in Oshkosh. Applicant must come from a family of at least four and demonstrate financial need.
Founders Scholarship—This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from any Winnebago County high school. Applicants must have good academic standing, display qualities of good citizenship and demonstrate financial need.
Hans & Otty Edel Memorial Scholarship—This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from any Winnebago County high school planning to major in Engineering at a four-year college or university.
Jane Mary Mengel Scholarship—This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from any Winnebago County high school planning to pursue a career in teaching at UW Oshkosh. Applicants must demonstrate financial need.
Jeanette Hebblewhite Scholarship—This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from Oshkosh North High School pursuing a degree in education with the intention to teach.
Joseph S. Mertle Scholarship—This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from any Winnebago County high school pursuing a degree in graphic arts. Applicant must demonstrate financial need.
Kim Chapin Scholarship—This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from any high school within the Oshkosh Area School District.
Lester H. Ihrig Memorial Scholarship—This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from any Oshkosh public high school planning to attend any college, university or technical college.
Marie Lehnigk Scholarship—This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from any Winnebago County public high school pursuing a degree in nursing.
Mary E. Forbes Scholarship—This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from any Winnebago County high school pursuing a career in nursing. Applicants must demonstrate financial need.
Mr. & Mrs. Morris Dalton Scholarship #1—This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from any Winnebago County public high school planning to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Applicants must excel academically and demonstrate financial need.
Mr. & Mrs. Morris Dalton Scholarship #2—This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from any Winnebago County public high school planning to attend a four-year college or university. Applicants must excel academically and demonstrate financial need.
Noon Optimists Scholarship—This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from any Oshkosh high school.
Oscar & Gertrude Hardy Journalism Scholarship—This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from any Oshkosh public high school pursuing a degree in journalism or communications. Applicants must demonstrate financial need.
Sergeant Andrew Wallace Scholarship—This scholarship is awarded to graduating seniors from Oshkosh North and Ripon High Schools pursuing a degree in physical education from a four-year college or university. Applicants must have a GPA of at least 2.5 and be active in community service and extra-curricular activities. First priority will be given to applicants pursuing an emphasis in adaptive physical education and/or applicants with a military, church or sports background. Financial need will also be a consideration.
Scholarship for Engineering—This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from any Oshkosh public high school pursuing a degree in Engineering from any institution of higher learning accredited by the Accredidation Board for Engineering and Technology. Applicants must have a high school GPA of at least 3.0.
Stadmeuller-Kilp Scholarship—This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior girl from any Oshkosh high school pursing a degree in the healthcare field. Applicants must attend UW Oshkosh, UW Madison or Marquette University and demonstrate financial need.
William M. Bray Scholarship—This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from any Oshkosh high school attending a four-year college or university. Applicants must demonstrate financial need.
Winnebago County Farm Progress Days Scholarship—This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from any Winnebago County high school pursuing a degree in agriculture or natural resources from any college, university or technical college.

Fox River Valley Contractors Association Scholarship—This scholarship is awarded to students pursuing a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management at Marquette University, Milwaukee School of Engineering, UW-Madison, UW-Milwaukee, UW-Platteville or UW-Stout. Children of Fox River Valley Contractors Association member firms are eligible for this scholarship, regardless of where they live. Students from high schools in Brown, Calumet, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Manitowoc, Oconto, Outagamie, Shawano, Sheboygan, Waupaca, Waushara and Winnebago Counties are also eligible. All applicants must receive a letter of recommendation from a member of the Fox River Valley Contractors Association to be considered for the scholarship.
Fred Leist Music Scholarship—This scholarship is awarded to an Oshkosh public high school student intending to pursue a music major (vocal or instrumental). A live performance may be required as part of the application evaluation.
Judith Gruszynske Memorial Scholarship—This scholarship is awarded to active Winnebago County 4-H members. Applicants must have been a 4-H member for 5 or more years, exhibited at the fair and displayed an active leadership role. Applicants may attend any university, college or technical college as a full- or part-time student. Recipients will receive the scholarship after their first semester of college (minimum 2.0 GPA required).
