What do you want your fund to do for our community?  Grants from the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation are awarded year-round to charitable community organizations, educational institutions and government agencies in the following ways:

Competitive Grants

Many donors make gifts to the Community Foundation without restriction or for the good of a particular field. These funds are professionally managed for long-term growth, with a portion of the investment earnings distributed each year as grants.

Unlike donor advised funds, the donor does not play an ongoing advisory role with these kinds of grants. Committees that represent a diverse selection of board members and community volunteers evaluate grant applications, meet with applicants as needed, and make grant recommendations. The Board of Directors approves all grant recommendations.

From July 1, 2016, through June 30, 2017, the Community Foundation received 197 grant applications. Funding was awarded to 163 of these projects and programs. On average 78 cents was awarded for every dollar requested.
